Planning a rave party is almost as much fun as attending one! There are so many cool rave gear and rave toys to choose from that you are sure to find items that will make any raver proud. A successful rave party includes loud danceable music, colorful clothing, rave lights and perhaps even a disco ball or two. Rave lights really add to the entire effect and help show off the outfits. There are many types of lights you’ll want to include to make the experience something else!

The main light for the party can be any funky light you want. Lamps set in the corner of the room work very well. Typically, it’s a low light with bulbs of a certain color – a lot of people prefer black but any color will do. Stringing rope lights or Christmas lights around the walls is a great effect especially if they are blinking. A strobe light is a must and if it’s a bigger room, have two. Adding a fog machine and disco balls will complete the effect as all the colors in the room will be reflected.

A rave party can't be beat. With lots of music, bright flashing lights, and all your friends, you are absolutely going to have a blast! But first, you need to dress the part of the raver and find some rave clothes. These clothes will help to express yourself in a way that truly fits your unique personality.

Rave parties get very hot. Since you will be dancing most of the night away you want to choose raver clothes which keep you light and airy and won't cause you to overheat. Halter-tops, or smaller t-shirts are a great choice. And, if you purchase equalizer or flashing t shirts, you will fit right in. Choose bright colors - the louder the better.

Keep your bottoms loose fitting so you can move. Hip huggers, which show a little midriff is totally cool!

And remember comfortable shoes. Most folks wear flats or even sneakers because the last thing you want is to be sitting on the side-lines because your feet hurt. You want to be out there moving...all night. If you want to work with shoes you've already got, try some LED shoelaces.

Glowsticking, as it is called, has become an art form that grows in popularity each year. With more people watching in fascination as folks with amazing skills and dedication create a fantastic freestyle dance/light show.

Glowsticking can be broken down into two types: freehand and glowstringing.

Freehand is when the glowstick remains in the performer’s hand, and is moved around creating an extension of his body in glowing lights. Tracing is the term for outlining the body, liquid is the technique of moving the glowstick in the air freeform. Kicking and tapping are ways to incorporate the body by juggling the glowstick. There are also many ways to throw the glowstick that are very visually appealing and create illusions, which are especially fun to watch.

Glowstringing is when the glowstick is attached to a piece of string, and the performer swings the glowstick around his head and body. Doing the figure eight, butterfly, or thread-the-needle moves are very popular as it involves two sticks and the illusion is that they seem to pass each other in the air. The flower pattern is also very beautiful with many circle motions in a captivating effect.
